My experience at Avana Coronado has been overwhelmingly negative, and I feel compelled to share my concerns. While the property may appear appealing at first glance, I've encountered significant issues that extend beyond mere inconveniences. There are glaring electrical and fire safety hazards both within the unit and common areas, raising serious concerns about the overall well-being of residents.
From the very start, move-in conditions were unsatisfactory, with a balcony covered in bird poop, non-functional appliances, and doors that didn't lock. The lack of proper grounding and safety features in the kitchen, along with tape obstructing a fire sprinkler, were particularly alarming. The overall cleanliness of surfaces and walls was subpar, and external vehicle gates remained non-operational. The issues persisted, with windows that were difficult to open, dead birds in the garage, and hazardous conditions like holes in the walls with protruding nails.
Water disruptions were frequent and poorly communicated, with little notice provided for essential maintenance. The community's safety and security were compromised, evidenced by malfunctioning gates, inoperative lamp posts, and instances of vehicle vandalism and break-ins. The property manager's dismissive attitude towards security concerns and the refusal to install cameras only exacerbated the situation.
Customer service was abysmal, with unresponsive management and a community manager, Nikki Villalta, who exhibited unreasonable behavior. Maintenance requests took an excessively long time to be addressed, and the understaffed facilities team struggled to keep up with the workload.
Mail and privacy concerns added to the list of grievances, with allegations of staff reading residents' mail and inconsistent statements regarding privacy practices. Common spaces were riddled with fire and electric code violations, creating a hazardous environment. Parking was a nightmare, with insufficient spaces, narrow garages, and questionable towing practices.
The financial aspect also raised suspicion, with unauthorized withdrawals from bank accounts and questionable billing practices. Misleading claims about apartment features, utilities, and mandatory services further eroded trust. In conclusion, my experience at Avana Coronado has been marred by a series of issues, from safety hazards to poor management and misleading practices, making it an untenable living situation.
The staff has been nothing short of amazing! Dani wanted to make sure our move was as smooth as possible, and did everything she could to prepare us for renting our first apartment! While there have been small hiccups - everything was promptly sorted out by management, and we have been able to ask manyyyy questions with no hassle. It's quiet and low key, and everything that we hoped for!
Beautiful and quiet place to live. Management is really great and responsive to any issues or questions the tenants might have. The Avana Apartment Complex (formerly known as Coronado Crossing) is HUGE! You're looking at approximately …
The location is awesome and a quiet area but the management from Gray Star is very racist towards disabled veterans and African Americans so just be aware that if you’re African-American or minority or disabled you will be treated badly. They also put this on my car when I was out of town and they have been told about being racially abusing my husband and the cooperation told me that they don’t care and I have them on the video saying that. They keep harassing us and hopefully we will be able to move this year. Also the last Maniger has been fired. Also it’s so bad that now we have people protesting the company
Dani is incredible to work with! My boyfriend and I toured the property, asked way too many questions, and wanted to make sure we covered all of our bases. Dani was so knowledgeable and understanding to our situation and made us feel so comfortable, especially when talking to her about my boyfriend's veteran rights and my own disability rights. We really enjoyed how beautiful the property and units were, too. We also loved that they really value the residents and put together so many events to bring the community together. We can't wait to keep working with Dani and Avana!
I loved visiting this property. I was lucky enough to work with Dani during my experience and she was able to answer every question that I had. These units are perfectly priced, so close to all the fun things to do in Chandler, and are truly beautiful. I can't wait to move in! Thank you Dani & Avana!
I’d give this place zero stars if I could! Currently still live here and so happy to be ending my lease. Half the tenants have to park across the street at park because it’s a terrible parking set up. Come see for yourself if you don’t …
Be careful renting here. They are trying to charge me for damage that was done to the apartment before I moved in. I filled out the form and submitted it when I moved in but they apparently lost it and I lost the photo I took of it. They …
